This week is about anniversaries (CKMOXFORD 2 year website yesterday) and at the Kings Arms on Monday 30th June saw it being 2 years since Adam Manning opened the doors to the general public since he took over.
From the moment he had the keys, he has been renovating and been working very hard to bring a successful pub.
At the 1 year anniversary last year, he had done most things but at that point there was no food due to the kitchen needing a lot of work done to it.
Since then, he has brought the kitchen to life and now does a very successful menu with the main chef Dan.
The menu is Welsh focused if you can tell (head over to his webpage to see) but he does mainly work hard on the Sunday Roasts.
I have been in several times for the food and it is very good.
If you haven't been down there to try, then please do.
You won't be disappointed.
I caught up with Adam to see how it is going:
How have you found the last 12 months?
Not without it's challenges especially around cost increases which have been felt by all businesses but thankfully we have seen great year on year growth so have managed to offset that a little.
In the blog last year, your main focus was launching the kitchen. Now that is up and running, how is it going?
Food is going really well. The kitchen team work really hard and Dan has done a great job with the menus and manages to produce amazing food especially considering the size of our kitchen.
Do you have any more plans for the pub or is it just a case of carrying on now as you are and just working on what you have in place?
There is still plenty more I want to get done / improve but will focus on adjusting to the increasing food trade and what will be our first full Xmas period with the kitchen open and then take stock again after Christmas
Thank you Adam for taking the time to answer those for me.
Over the last 12 months as well, there have been plenty of great events happening from Musicians, quiz nights and even DJ sets.
Once an event is announced, they will also be shown on this website so please keep your eye on that.
I would also like to say Thank you for all your support with me over my fundraising projects, last month's charity quiz night was only the start so cannot wait to get involved again with you soon.
I cannot wait to see how you do in the next 12 months as well.
Massive WELL DONE to you and all the teams hard work to keep it going.
If you want to leave a comment or send some love for Adam below, please do..
